Corporate Registry
- October 24, 2011, B.C. societies are able to file annual reports online for the first time.
- Electronic filing of an annual report is available by going to BC Registry Services and following the link on the right.
- Use the access code printed on page one of the annual report reminder or contact BC Registry Services at 250 356-8609 to have an access code mailed to the Registered Office of the society. Payment is by credit card or BC OnLine deposit account. There is also information available online to help you throughout the process.
- Effective October 24, 2011, BC Registry Services will automatically request a Business Number from the Canada Revenue Agency when registering a partnership, proprietorship or limited partnership and when incorporating a society. Once Canada Revenue Agency generates the Business Number, the Registries will send a notification to the business or society with the new number. Click here for more information.
- Effective July 30, 2007, the Corporate Registry began to dissolve B.C. companies incorporated before March 29, 2004, if the company had not filed a transition application under the Business Corporations Act. The Registry also began to dissolve B.C. companies restored since March 29, 2004, if the company failed to file the post restoration transition application required under the Act. Before a company is dissolved, the Registry will send a notice to the registered office address with full details and the company will have one month to respond to prevent the dissolution from occurring. To file a transition application, access Corporate Online. There is no fee required to file a transition application.
- All active companies incorporated in B.C. before the Business Corporations Act came into force on March 29, 2004 had two years from that date to file a Transition Application. If you missed this deadline, see B.C. Company Transition under the new Business Corporations Act for further information.
